In 2020 Real Play Coalition and PlacemakingX led the Real Play City Challenge to scale up
child-friendly, safe, and playful urban practice. We aimed to enable children to play and cities to build back better.
In 2020-2021 the Real Play City Challenge brought cities and placemakers together from all over the world to inspire action, enhance impact and catalyse playful cities.
In the 2020-2021 Edition we celebrated 10 winning cities & placemakers reclaiming play on 6 continents - showing how play is valued all over the world.
